Langat Sewerage Project has chosen 29 January 2019 to celebrate their 9 Million Manhour without Lost Time Injury ever since they started this project on site.

Langat Sewerage Project is always committed to conducting business without risk to employees’ health & safety, contractors and the public. As a result of their high commitment, they have achieved the target of working hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) for;

-    1.5 million manhour in September 2016
-    3 million manhour in March 2017
-    6 million manhour in January 2018. 

Hence, they are grateful and proud to announce that they have achieved the 9 Million Manhours without LTI as their fourth achievement throughout the project.

Therefore, the purpose of the celebration is to continue raising awareness on OSH and promote the development of need-based activities, self-compliance with statutory requirements and professional SHE management systems at workplaces.

The announcement was officiated by the Director General of Sewerage Services Department (JPP), Ir. Syed Jaafar Idid Syed Abdyllah Idid.  Also presented to witness the momentous occasion were the senior management of JPP, representatives from the local authorities, MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, Consultants and Sub-contractors.  

Safety Week Campaign banners were then presented to all subcontractors on their achievements.  In conjunction with this occasion, the Safety Department has organised safety programmes and grand toolbox for each zone in the network piping system. Awareness talk by consultant during the period of safety campaign also will be conducted as well as quizzes to staff.

The highlight of the celebration was a safety demonstration conducted by Pasukan Bomba dan Penyelamat Kajang, with the assistance of Langat Sewerage Project staff, where a scene of emergency on the Anaerobic Digester Tank was held.  All safety procedures and SOP were practised during this demonstration to educate the staff and public.
