On 13 November 2019, Langat Sewerage Project organised the Back To School Programme by giving aid to equip 440 underprivileged students with school necessities. These students are from 22 schools located within the Langat Sewerage Project network alignment in Cheras and Kajang. 

The event was officiated by YB Dato’ Dr. Xavier Jayakumar, Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources at the Langat Sewerage Project Site Office in Kajang. Also present at the event were Azizah Ariffin, Deputy Secretary General of KATS, Ahmad Rozian Othman, Deputy Director General of Sewerage Service Department and Mohd Razin Ghazali, Chief Operating Officer Technical and Engineering, MMC Corporation Berhad and project team members.

Selected Form 1 to Form 5 students which falls under B40 families received school bags, stationeries and dictionaries to help them prepare for 2020 schooling term. Apart from that, all 22 schools were given First Aid Kits and mobile stretchers as part of safety awareness to educate the school children on safety hazards at construction areas. 

Exhibitions by Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd and National Water Service Commission (SPAN) were held to educate the school children on water conservation efforts by the government.

The school children were also entertained by Chicky, the KFC mascot who made a special appearance and lead them in activities like interactive games, quizzes and group dancing.
