MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT AND WATER PAYS VISIT TO LANGAT SEWERAGE PROJECT

On 7 July 2020, the Minister of Environment and Water, YB Dato’ Tuan Ibrahim bin Tuan Man and a few officials from the same ministry has made a surprise visit to the site office of Langat Sewerage Project and visited the Langat Centralized Sewage Treatment Plant (LCSTP).

The small delegation arrived at the site office around 2.30 pm and was instinctively received by the Project Director of Langat Sewerage Project, Encik Mohd Abdul Fatah Endut. They were briefed about the project in a closed discussion, and then proceeded to LCSTP’s Administration Building and Maintenance Floor to have a ‘look and feel’ of the treatment plant while being explained on the wastewater processes. They continued the visit to the podium and public amenities area featuring 16 badminton courts, 2 futsal courts, 2 sepak takraw courts, and community hall before leaving the compound.

The project is standing at 7.3 hectares land equivalent to 58 Olympic-size swimming pool and capable of treating wastewater up to 207, 000-meter cube per day. Supervised by Sewerage Service Department under the Ministry of Environment & Water, the overall project progress including pipe jacking work for the 105km pipeline, Langat Sewerage Project is already at 91% physical completion.
